“the Earth laughs in flowers.”

The backstory

Hi, I’m Julie! I have an obsession with Duluth overalls, snap shirts and jorts.
I always have mud caked on my boots and half the time I’m still wearing my “good” shoes, caked in mud, because I’m just going to do that one thing, real quick!

In 2020 we started looking for a piece of land to use as a getaway for our family. From the moment I set foot on this property I was IN LOVE! It just felt different, being in the fresh air and experiencing the beauty of nature, changed me. In Spring of 2022, with the help of my girls, we planted 6 - 50 foot rows of annual flowers, a plot of lavender and a 1/2 acre field of sunflowers. Watching the beauty that came from planting the tiniest seeds was incredible and now I’m hooked!

Fall 2022 I decided to go “all in” on expanding the flower farm. So, in addition to our lavender, I have added a field of peonies, fancy narcissus, bearded iris, and a {ever growing} collection of roses.

For annuals we started out with planting thousands of tulips in the fall. This spring we have started our ranunculus and anemones. We are also working on several thousand seed starts in the basement which will include: amaranth, asters, bachelor’s button, celosia, cosmos, lisianthus, poppies, strawflowers, sunflowers, zinnias! We are also planting a field of dahlias and a good section of gladiolus.

We are looking forward to this year and sharing the beauty of our farm with others through bouquet sales, U-Picks as well as a few private events.

Picked with care

As we continue our expansion of the farm, we are also adding another building this spring/summer. It seems on a farm there is never enough storage for all.of.the.things. This will also allow for me to have a flower/art studio. The intent will be to host a variety of different art workshops.

It has been evident to me already; how incredibly therapeutic and healing nature can be. My dream is to pair the beauty of flowers with other art forms to encourage others to relax and enjoy themselves in a beautiful, creative setting. More details to follow as we progress with the building.
